IPO, an abbreviation for Initial Public Offering tips its hat to the Loop, Chicago’s financial district.

Executive Chef Mark Powierski brings 17-years of professional culinary experience to W Chicago City Center's IPO Restaurant.  A detroit native Chef has had the honor of cooking for President Obama twice and was names Executive Chef for the first time at age 22.  Now only 32 years old, he has experience at a number of Marriott properties including Le Meridien, Westin, Sheraton, and now W Hotels.  

Before stepping into his role as Executive Chef for W Chicago City Center's IPO Restaurant, Chef Mark finished traveling to Taiwan where he received private cooking lessons.  Bringing his passion for travel and authentic cultural street food to life, his inspiration derives from international concepts, flavors and culinary techniques.

IPO features fresh seasonal ingredients selected weekly from the Chicago Green City Market, as well as from W Chicago City Center’s Rooftop garden. Chef Coppola grows fresh herbs such as rosemary, thyme and basil as well as chili peppers and tomatoes right on property in his urban oasis.
